Exchange Traded Funds

ETFs are the key to gaining Bitcoin exposure in the UK domestic investment market for professional traders and investors. Investopedia says, "An exchange traded fund (ETF) is a type of security that tracks an index, sector, commodity, or other asset, but which can be purchased or sold on a stock exchange the same as a regular stock."

Barclays Bank explains that "ETFs trade like shares so you can add them to your portfolio relatively easily." In fact, most ETFs can be held in an investment ISA. You should check with the ETF provider if it's eligible for an ISA before signing up and always compare funds to get the best one for you and your financial situation.

Choosing an ISA containing the right ETF will give you exposure to Bitcoin-related stocks, such as Bitcoin miners, Bitcoin related technology, or companies that hold a large amount of Bitcoin. These stocks give you indirect access to the cryptocurrency because their value is so closely related to the value of the token. Bitcoin Treasuries lists companies which hold Bitcoin as reserves if you want to do your own research.
